Synopsis
Belgium under Nazi occupation, 1942. Resistance fighter Rik and his father Leon are imprisoned in the brutal Breendonk camp, where survival comes at a devastating price. Forced into a dangerous alliance with a Flemish SS guard, they face impossible choices between loyalty, betrayal and survival.

Following a failed act of resistance, Rik and his father Leon are taken to Breendonk. As Rik is confronted with the harsh reality of the camp, Elisabeth refuses to give up on him. Flemish SS officer Vaes tries to strengthen his position.

Rik learns the unwritten rules of Breendonk and discovers how far prisoners must go to survive. Elisabeth searches for news of Rik. Vaes enjoys his growing influence, but the war takes its toll on his private life.
